IT'S OCTOBER!!

Finally! I thought this month would never get here, how about you? Were you anticipating this month as much as I and many of my friends have?? Even though the Fall Equinox is in September, when October rolls around I know FALL HAS ARRIVED!!

You can usually notice a decided change in the temperatures, the leaves begin to fall off the trees, and it just seems to be more excitement in the air. October is also a super busy month for most of us Witchy folk. We look forward to Samhain and the celebration of our New Year while at the same time paying our respect to the ancestors who have crossed the veil to the other side.

I'm also excited because October has a few birthdays to celebrate, my eldest will be 39 this year. She is a remarkable person and I am so proud of the things she has not only accomplished but also the many things she has overcome in her life. Mylia is a Chiari survivor, a single mother of an amazing 16-year-old, and also works for NASA at Goddard Space Center. To say I am proud of her would be more than an understatement. She shines like a beacon in the night.

October is also my only nephews birth month, he too is an awesome person and even though we don't have daily contact, I am so proud of him for the things he is doing with his life. He has stood by and pretty much taken over the reigns of running the household as his father, my brother continues with his fight against cancer. Derek also helps to take care of my mother who lives with them. I am eternally grateful for the care and support this young man has given to the family.

This year October has many exciting things happening for many people, from blog hops to giveaways and crafts. It's a busy month and I am so excited to be among quite a few distinguished people who are participating in NaBloWriMo, I admit, it IS going to be a challenge for me to write and post an entry each day for 31 consecutive days... but, with the support and encouragement of so many awesomesauce people, I  have confidence I WILL make it through.

And finally, on the 31st, I'll be celebrating Samhain. Quietly and reverently, after I tag along with Tanya as she takes Miss Ravyn Trick or Treating. She's old enough this year to be active and not just ride along in her stroller as her big brother hauls in the loot. She's going to be a little black cat faerie witch, and I promise to take pictures...

Sooo, HAPPY OCTOBER Y'ALL and I hope your month is as full of excitement, challenges and family time as mine will be...
