Ideas … Yours?, Mine?, Shared?, Stolen?

It’s possible I’m being overly sensitive, but I’m seriously having a difficult time seeing random thoughts become the object of others posts after they have been written by someone else in their personal blog post.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for sharing ideas. Get it?? IDEAS!!!

The problem I keep running into is where someone takes time to put their thoughts into words, write them down in a post, then share it with all of us in blog land, then someone comes along behind them and either takes the entire written word or the concept behind the written words and uses them for their own.  Without acknowledging where the information came from.

Yes, I know … everything written on the internet can be considered fair game. Most things are shared with Creative Commons. Others have a copyright attached to them.

All I’m saying is if you are going to write a blog, use your own ideas. Especially if you want to be taken seriously. If you read something and it sparks an idea, run with that spark, just don’t take the original idea and then use those written words as your original creative content.

And for the love of Pete … use SPELLCHECK! You have NO idea how difficult it is to try to understand what you are trying to say if we can’t make sense of the words you have written. If you can’t put a sentence together, use proper grammar and spelling you have NO business posting things in a public venue.

K, I’m finished for this time…
